Replace cabinet doors and hardware

A pro swaps your cabinet doors, drawer fronts, hinges, and handles while the boxes stay put.

What this job involves

Your cabinet boxes stay on the wall. The pro takes off the old doors and drawer fronts, then hangs the new ones with new hinges. Handles and knobs are drilled and set in straight lines. Doors are adjusted so the gaps match. Older cabinets sometimes have hinge holes in odd spots, so the pro may need to fill and redrill.

What to have ready

  • A count of doors and drawer fronts
  • The new doors, hinges, and handles, or a plan to order them
  • Photos of the current hinges, inside the door
  • Whether you want the doors painted before they go up

What a fair price looks like

Most homeowners in our area pay between $400 and $1,200 for this job. Labor only. Doors, hinges, and handles are bought by the homeowner.

This is a range to help you judge a quote, not a quote. The pro you are matched with gives you their own price, in writing for anything over $1,000, and you pay them directly. We charge the pro a small flat fee only after the job is done. We never ask you for payment.

What a good pro will ask you first

  • How many doors and drawers are there?
  • Are the new doors the same size as the old ones?
  • Are the hinges hidden or showing?
  • Do you want new handles in the same holes or new spots?
