Hang heavy mirrors and art

A pro hangs heavy mirrors and framed art level and into anchors that will hold them.

What this job involves

Heavy mirrors need more than a nail. The pro weighs the piece, picks the right anchor or a French cleat, and finds studs where possible. Each piece is hung level and at a good height. A gallery wall is laid out on the floor first so the spacing looks right before any holes are made. Plaster walls crack easily and need care.

What to have ready

  • A count of pieces and roughly how heavy
  • Where each one goes, with a photo of the wall
  • The hanging hardware on hand, if any
  • Whether the walls are drywall or plaster

What a fair price looks like

Most homeowners in our area pay between $90 and $250 for this job. Labor for a few pieces with anchors included.

This is a range to help you judge a quote, not a quote. The pro you are matched with gives you their own price, in writing for anything over $1,000, and you pay them directly. We charge the pro a small flat fee only after the job is done. We never ask you for payment.

What a good pro will ask you first

  • How many pieces, and how heavy is the biggest?
  • Drywall or plaster?
  • Do you know where you want each one?
  • Does the mirror have hangers on the back?
