Assemble furniture

A pro builds flat pack furniture from the box and anchors tall pieces to the wall.

About an hour per piece on site

What this job involves

The pro unpacks the boxes, checks the parts, and builds the piece in the room where it will live. Dressers and bookcases taller than waist high get anchored to the wall so they cannot tip. Packing is broken down and set out for recycling. Missing or damaged parts are the usual snag, and the pro will tell you what to request from the store.

What to have ready

  • The boxes in the room where the furniture goes
  • The item names or a photo of the box labels
  • Whether the piece needs to be anchored to the wall
  • Whether old furniture needs to be moved out

What a fair price looks like

Most homeowners in our area pay between $75 and $250 for this job. Labor per piece. Large wardrobes and bunk beds are at the high end.

This is a range to help you judge a quote, not a quote. The pro you are matched with gives you their own price, in writing for anything over $1,000, and you pay them directly. We charge the pro a small flat fee only after the job is done. We never ask you for payment.

What a good pro will ask you first

  • What pieces, and how many?
  • Are the boxes in the right room?
  • Does anything need anchoring to the wall?
  • Is there old furniture to move?
