Install a bathroom vanity
A pro sets your new vanity and a licensed plumber hooks up the sink and faucet.
What this job involves
The old vanity comes out after the water is shut off and the drain is disconnected. The new cabinet is leveled, shimmed, and screwed to the wall. The top and sink go on, then the faucet and drain are connected. Illinois requires a licensed plumber for the water connections. The wall and floor behind an old vanity are often unfinished or damaged, so a little patching may be needed.
What to have ready
- The width of the space wall to wall
- The new vanity, top, and faucet on hand
- A photo of the pipes under the current sink
- Where the shutoff valves are
- Whether the old vanity is still in place
What a fair price looks like
Most homeowners in our area pay between $300 and $750 for this job. Labor with vanity, top, and faucet supplied by the homeowner. A licensed plumber is required.
This is a range to help you judge a quote, not a quote. The pro you are matched with gives you their own price, in writing for anything over $1,000, and you pay them directly. We charge the pro a small flat fee only after the job is done. We never ask you for payment.
What a good pro will ask you first
- Is the new vanity the same width as the old one?
- Are the drain and water lines in the same spot?
- Do the shutoff valves work?
- Is there a mirror or light that needs to move?
Why we only send a licensed plumbing pro
Illinois licenses plumbers statewide, and the law covers repairs and fixture swaps, not just new construction. Every plumbing request on this site goes only to a pro whose state license and contractor registration we have checked.
