Install blinds and shades

A pro mounts blinds, shades, and curtain rods level and secure on every window.

About two hours for a few windows on site

What this job involves

The pro measures each window, sets the brackets inside or outside the frame, and hangs the blind or shade. Curtain rods are anchored into the studs or with solid anchors so they hold heavy drapes. Cordless blinds are the safe choice around kids and are easier for stiff hands. Old windows are often not square, so the pro checks each one before drilling.

What to have ready

  • A count of windows and their sizes
  • The blinds, shades, or rods on hand
  • Inside the frame or outside, if you know
  • Whether old blinds need to come down

What a fair price looks like

Most homeowners in our area pay between $100 and $300 for this job. Labor for a few windows with blinds supplied by the homeowner.

This is a range to help you judge a quote, not a quote. The pro you are matched with gives you their own price, in writing for anything over $1,000, and you pay them directly. We charge the pro a small flat fee only after the job is done. We never ask you for payment.

What a good pro will ask you first

  • How many windows?
  • Inside mount or outside mount?
  • Blinds, shades, or curtain rods?
  • Are there old blinds to remove?
