Install a bidet seat
A licensed plumber fits a bidet seat to your toilet and connects the water line.
What this job involves
A bidet seat replaces the regular toilet seat and uses a small branch off the toilet water line. The plumber removes the old seat, mounts the bidet seat, and installs a T fitting at the shutoff valve. Electric seats with warm water need an outlet within reach, and many bathrooms do not have one near the toilet. Illinois requires a licensed plumber for the water connection. The seat must fit your toilet shape, round or elongated.
What to have ready
- The bidet seat on hand, or the model you want
- Whether the toilet is round or elongated
- Whether there is an outlet near the toilet
- A photo of the toilet and the shutoff valve
What a fair price looks like
Most homeowners in our area pay between $125 and $275 for this job. Labor with the seat supplied by the homeowner. A licensed plumber is required. Adding an outlet needs a licensed electrician.
This is a range to help you judge a quote, not a quote. The pro you are matched with gives you their own price, in writing for anything over $1,000, and you pay them directly. We charge the pro a small flat fee only after the job is done. We never ask you for payment.
What a good pro will ask you first
- Which model, and is it electric?
- Round or elongated toilet?
- Is there an outlet within a few feet?
- Does the shutoff valve work?
Why we only send a licensed plumbing pro
Illinois licenses plumbers statewide, and the law covers repairs and fixture swaps, not just new construction. Every plumbing request on this site goes only to a pro whose state license and contractor registration we have checked.
