Install a shower door
A pro mounts a framed or semi frameless shower door kit and seals it against leaks.
What this job involves
The pro measures the opening at top and bottom, since walls are rarely plumb. The wall channels and bottom track are set level and anchored into the tile. The glass panels are hung and adjusted so the door closes square. Everything gets a bead of silicone and must cure overnight before use. Drilling into tile takes care, and the pro checks for pipes behind the wall first.
What to have ready
- The width of the opening at the top and at the bottom
- The height from the tub or curb to the ceiling
- The door kit on hand or ordered
- Photos of the opening and the tile
What a fair price looks like
Most homeowners in our area pay between $250 and $600 for this job. Labor with the door kit supplied by the homeowner. Removing an old door is included.
This is a range to help you judge a quote, not a quote. The pro you are matched with gives you their own price, in writing for anything over $1,000, and you pay them directly. We charge the pro a small flat fee only after the job is done. We never ask you for payment.
What a good pro will ask you first
- Is this a tub or a walk in shower?
- What are the opening measurements?
- Is the door framed or frameless?
- Is there an old door or curtain rod to remove?
